Unique Venues of London, the representative body of the capital’s unique venues, has launched the inaugural Unique Insight London at the Museum of London.
The evening was designed to reflect the added-value ethos of the association, combining dynamic content with sophisticated entertainment, giving members, corporates and agents something inspiring to take away from the evening.
The venue was completely-themed for the evening by Event Concept, who turned the public space around in only half-an-hour after the museum closed. Making use of unique features to bring the Unique Insight London brand to life.
A particular highlight from the evening were two speeches supplied by market-leading speaker bureau, Speakers Corner. Xavier Bajer and Jamil Qureshi challenged guests to look at their business practices and behaviour, change their approach and turn ambition into action.
Bubble Food provided their signature, innovative catering for the evening. Playing on the senses, attendees were wowed with a range of interactive canapés which playfully teased taste, sight and sound; challenging perceptions for delicious results.
The key theme for the evening was the topical subject of return on investment (ROI). Unique Venues of London assembled a panel of experts from across the sector, inviting BAFTA, Zibrant and RIBA Venues to offer their unique insights. Chaired by Triggerfish’s Andrew White, key findings included:
- Agencies and Corporates need to share their objectives for their event with venues and suppliers in their first meeting to ensure ROI is achieved
- Venues in the unique sector need to make more of their compliance credentials in the procurement process
- With tighter budgets the challenge is providing a consistent, repeat experiences for less, especially with Y-o-Y returning delegates
Commenting on the significance of the evening, Moya Maxwell, chair of Unique Venues of London said: “This evening was not only a celebration of our membership and their work, but also acknowledges the loyalty of our corporate and agency clients. We designed this event to break away from the norm, an evening of unique, stand-alone content which added value and challenged attitudes. We represent the commercial arm of some of the Britain’s and the world’s best loved cultural institutions, and as such it is our aim and ambition to reflect our parent companies’ pioneering spirits and become thought leaders within the meetings and events sector.
“The turnout surpassed expectations and the positive feedback has prompted us to consider hosting a second Unique Insight London later in the year. It now leaves me to thank our amazing speakers, suppliers, and our hosts, the Museum of London, for an exceptional evening.”
